From the House of G.H. Mumm, this is an ideal accompaniment to desserts and sweet dishes. G.H. Mumm Demi-Sec isn’t simply Cordon Rouge with a sweeter dosage, but a proper champagne in its own right, as chef de caves Didier Mariotti intended. This is a deliciously soft, rich champagne to taste, subtle and elegant, resulting from a skilful blend of wines from a single harvest with mature reserve wines.

Nosing

With the nose :

The sparkle is lively and the bubbles prolific. There are intense fruit notes on the nose, with peach, pear and exotic fruit. Vanilla and honey aromas complete the picture.

On tasting, the palate is consistently rounded and smooth, complemented by a touch of fresh acidity.

final taste :

A full-fruited blend with mature reserve wines and a generous dosage combine to yield a demi-sec champagne that’s rich in character.

Commentary :

Composition :
• 55% Pinot Meunier for its intense fruit notes
• 35% Pinot Noir and 10 % Chardonnay to add charm and depth.

The reserve wines, mostly Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, lend maturity and honeyed flavours, accounting for 20-25% of this subtle mix. The finishing touch is the dosage of 44 grams of cane sugar per litre, which gives the wine its superb smoothness.
